Job Description

The General Worker supports daily operations in an OCTG pipe manufacturing facility. This role involves operating equipment, handling, inspecting, cleaning, and preparing tubular products, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and able to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate equipment for OCTG pipe making (training provided) Assist in the handling, movement, and staging of OCTG pipe using cranes, forklifts (if certified), or manual methods
  • Load and unload pipes onto processing lines, threading machines, and storage racks
  • Support Heat Treat, NDT and threading operations, including pipe alignment, cleaning, dope application, and coupling installation
  • Inspect pipes and threads for defects, damage, or non-conformance to specifications
  • Clean, deburr, and prepare pipe ends prior to threading or inspection
  • Apply thread protectors and ensure proper labeling and identification of materials
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with housekeeping standards
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to plant safety policies
  • Assist operators, technicians, and supervisors with general labor tasks as needed
  • Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or quality concerns promptly
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in a pipe yard, manufacturing plant, or oilfield-related environment is a plus
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, bending, working outdoors)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn threading processes
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification (preferred but not required)
Work Environment:
Industrial setting with exposure to heavy machinery, noise, and varying weather conditions. Requires use of personal protective equipment (hard hat, steel-toe boots, gloves, eye protection, etc.). May involve shift work, overtime, and weekend hours depending on production needs.
