Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and dependable Pipelayer to install, maintain, and support underground piping systems for water, sewer, and storm drainage projects. In this hands-on role, you'll work in the field installing critical infrastructure while collaborating with a strong team committed to safety, quality, and craftsmanship. Experience with concrete forming/finishing and light equipment operation is a plus. Duties and Responsibilities Locate existing underground utilities through hand digging (potholing). Install underground water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer lines . Backfill and compact trenches using vibratory plates, tampers (jumping jacks), and remote-controlled trench compactors. Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping systems made from various materials. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, work orders, and job specifications. Gather tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete assigned tasks. Cut, weld, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes as required. Secure piping systems to structures using brackets, clamps, or supports; cut or bore holes as needed. Install pipe insulation and coverings; safely remove and dispose of old materials in accordance with EPA and OSHA regulations. Inspect piping systems and perform pressure and leak testing. Identify, report, and assist in resolving installation or system issues. Coordinate with supervisors to schedule equipment maintenance and repairs. Maintain accurate records, including safety documentation and inspection reports. Perform other duties as assigned to support project success. Safety Is a Priority Follow and promote the company's SSP Safety Program . Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Participate in regular safety meetings and training. OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work well as part of a team. Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. Knowledge of underground pipe installation processes. Experience using hand and power tools, including saws, pipe benders, blowtorches, and welding equipment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to perform testing procedures. Valid driver's license. Ability to pass a background check for work on military installations. Experience & Qualifications 2+ years of prior piping or underground utility experience preferred. Concrete forming/finishing experience is a plus. Light equipment operation experience is valued.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, climb, and work on uneven terrain. Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds . Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs. Visual acuity sufficient to inspect piping systems and read plans and blueprints. Why Join Us?
