Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Utility Person and Crew Member to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will support heavy equipment operation, utility installation, and site preparation activities across various construction projects. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help ensure the successful completion of underground utility systems, sanitary drainage, stormwater management, and other infrastructure projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with skilled professionals in a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to the development of essential community infrastructure. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to facilitate excavation, trenching, and utility installation. Assist with utility trenching, underground utilities installation, and pipe laser alignment to ensure precise placement of pipes and systems. Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings related to sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and other underground utilities. Support utility locating efforts using specialized equipment to identify existing underground utilities before excavation begins. Perform concrete finishing tasks including forming and pouring concrete for utility structures and related infrastructure. Conduct safety inspections adhering to federal construction safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols. Support welding, plumbing, and concrete forming activities as needed on various construction sites. Assist with the operation of forklifts and front loader trucks to move materials efficiently around the site. Collaborate with team members on utility system installation projects involving sanitary drainage systems, stormwater management, and oil & gas infrastructure. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and forklifts in a construction setting. Knowledge of utility trenching techniques and underground utilities installation processes. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and OSHA standards related to heavy equipment operation and site safety. Experience with utility locating tools and procedures for underground utilities like sanitary sewers and stormwater systems. Skills in concrete finishing, pipe laser alignment, welding, plumbing, and concrete forming are highly desirable. Strong understanding of safety regulations specific to oil & gas or municipal infrastructure projects is a plus. Construction site experience involving underground utilities installation or pipeline projects is preferred. Join us in building essential infrastructure that supports communities!
