Job Description
VanCon is searching for an Earthwork Foreman to supervise a team of 2 to 5 people. The ideal candidate is someone who can manage a team to keep the project on time and under budget while ensuring safety for the crew and quality for the finished product. This position will require operating heavy equipment for backfill, inspecting work sites to determine the method of pipe installation, and establishing a safe work environment that complies with OSHA and company safety standards. Compensation $30.00 or more depending on experience Overtime pay Paid Weekly Key Responsibilities Ensure successful backfill of all pipe installation (from one foot above pipe) Understand multiple soils Maintain and deepen connections with each direct report by having quarterly conversations around performance Ensure direct reports have the resources, training, and other needed assets to succeed in their roles Observe assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions Review employee timecards Keep equipment clean, submit regular inspection reports, and properly report damages and needed repairs to Superintendent Qualifications 5+ years of experience Must be authorized to work in the US Must have a valid US Driver's License Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to pass a motor vehicle records report check Skills Ability to use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels, and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation Knowledge and understanding to read plans Know layout of job Successfully and safely excavate around utilities Understand and excavate proper elevation control and grade Install and use machine control Meet budget and schedule requirements Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Flexible spending account Health savings account Employee Assistance Program Employer paid life insurance Supplemental life insurance Employer paid disability insurance Paid time off Referral program Sign-on bonus Paid trainings Paid orientation Gym reimbursement program Wellness program Annual company events Essential job site PPE provided Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
