•$46 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Pipe blueprint interpretation Mechanical drawings Construction plans Crew management Full Job Description Our client, a leading construction company, is looking for a Mechanical Pipefitter to join their team in Richmond, VA . In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, and testing of piping systems while supporting the foreman in planning and executing work safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Select type and size of pipe and related materials including supports, hangers, and valves according to job specifications Assist the foreman in planning the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and coordinate with other workers Cut pipe using pipe cutters, pipe saws, power tools, and pipe cutting machines Thread pipe using threading machines Safely operate Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove equipment Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to hold pipe Assemble and install metal and nonmetal pipes and fittings using threaded, wrapped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints and hand tools Secure pipes to structure using brackets, clamps, and hangers with hand and power tools Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges Lead a crew of 3-8 employees in the safe and productive execution of daily work Conduct safe start meetings with the crew daily and ensure compliance with all safety procedures Observe and comply with all safety rules, project requirements, and company policies

Requirements:

Ability to read and interpret pipe shop drawings, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs Ability to lead a crew and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors Knowledge of Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove operations Ability to read safety labels, warnings, and guidelines Excellent physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects Strong communication skills and ability to receive and follow instructions
