Competitive pay, based on experience Job Description Elk Heights Excavation is seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join our team. The Pipe Layer will be responsible for installing underground utility pipe, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. What You Will Do Install and properly grade underground utility pipe for water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Assist with setting pipe, fittings, manholes, catch basins, and other underground utility structures. Read and understand plans, specifications, and grade requirements. Use hand tools and construction equipment safely and effectively. Assist with trench preparation, bedding, backfilling, and compaction. Check pipe alignment, elevation, slope, and connections. Communicate with equipment operators, foremen, and other crew members to maintain safe and efficient operations. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company, OSHA, and job-site safety requirements. Properly care for tools and equipment. Perform other construction-related duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a pipe layer or in underground utility construction. Experience installing water, sewer, storm drainage, or other underground utilities. Familiarity with construction plans, elevations, grades, and laser levels. Experience working around excavators and other heavy equipment. Knowledge of proper trenching and excavation safety practices. Ability to work safely and productively in a physically demanding environment. Valid driver's license preferred. OSHA or other construction safety training is a plus.
