Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pipe Layer Laborer for site work to join our construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in installing underground utilities, including sanitary sewer systems, stormwater systems, and other pipeline infrastructure. Your energy and precision will help ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse utility installation projects, contributing to vital infrastructure development while honing your skills in heavy equipment operation and construction site management. Responsibilities Assist with the installation of underground utilities such as sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and other pipeline infrastructure according to construction plans and technical drawings. Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and move materials efficiently. Use utility locating tools and techniques to identify existing underground utilities before trenching or excavation begins, ensuring safety and compliance with federal construction safety regulations. Set up and maintain safe work zones by following all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with concrete finishing tasks related to utility structures and pipe bedding preparation. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to accurately execute installation tasks. Support welding, pipe laser alignment, and concrete forming activities as needed for precise utility system installation. Skills Proficiency in heavy equipment operation such as dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck. Knowledge of sanitary drainage systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, underground utilities installation, and utility trenching techniques. Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings related to pipeline and utility system installation projects. Experience with utility locating tools and methods for underground utility detection. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations specific to heavy equipment operation on construction sites. Skills in concrete finishing, concrete forming, plumbing basics related to pipeline installation, welding techniques, and the use of pipe lasers for alignment accuracy. Understanding of construction site procedures including safety protocols for oil & gas projects or other utility system installations.
