Position:
Under general direction of the Field Compliance Supervisor, perform locates on natural gas utility systems and assist with system damage prevention programs.
To Note:
Legal home address must be within a 25 -mile radius of the Winter Garden Office location for vehicle take home eligibility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Locate gas lines for District, other utilities, contractors and customers. Responsible for the correct, safe and efficient locating of all underground gas utilities and pipelines. Thoroughly search for underground gas utilities and pipelines in an area, properly marking the location with flags and paint. Photograph each locate our records. Spot and verify gas lines when locating to ensure proper markings. Perform system patrolling and inspections of District facilities noting any irregularities such as damaged test stations, leaks, corrosion etc. Complete required documentation (including electronic) for all work performed. Verify as-builts via Elements system as requested. Notify GIS of as-built variations via drawing, electronic or written communication. Coordinate with and assist Distribution in troubleshooting areas, including tracer wire, line markers, test stations, etc. Install, repair and replace line markers and test stations. Respond to emergency calls and assist with any repairs. Assist other sections and departments. Perform additional tasks and related duties as deemed necessary by supervisor. Attend training sessions as assigned by supervisor. Complete other related duties as requested by supervisor. Perform safe and responsible operation of District vehicles and maintain vehicles used through appropriate operator maintenance. Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and workable condition. Maintain control of inventory items obtained from stock or carried on vehicle.
Knowledge, Education and Skill Requirements:
Requires graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Requires knowledge of and experience in natural gas maintenance and service work. Must be familiar with hazards and safety measures related to natural gas industry and be knowledgeable of local, state and federal codes and regulations. Must be able to read blueprints, maps and reference material and perform simple mathematical calculations. This position requires knowledge and task evaluation as determined by the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA) rule CFR 49, Part 192,
Subpart N:
Operator Qualification (OQ).

$21.91 - $35.05 per hour
