ROAD STRUCTURES WORKER I
Practical Exams and Interviews will be conducted beginning the week of July 20, 2026. This position is eligible for appointment at step 1, $ 60,673.60 annually. County employees are subject to the County Promotion Rule for Step Placement in Accordance with Compensation Ordinance 1.3.5. Future Salary Increases •June 2026 - 3.48% increase to base pay (3% Across-the-Board + 0.48% Market Adjustment) •June 2027 - 2.94% increase to base pay (2.90% Across-the- Board + 0.48% Market Adjustment) The Position The County of San Diego is currently accepting job applications for Road Structures Worker I. Employees in this job class perform work in the construction, repair, and preventive maintenance of County-maintained road and bridge structures, culverts, guardrails, masonry walls, concrete curb and gutters, and related structures. Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results. iii. Anticipated Start Date:
Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date. If you are not selected for this interview process, you may have the opportunity to compete for future vacancies. Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of experience constructing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of road and bridge structures, culverts, related structures, and concrete finishing work; OR, One (1) year of construction experience which has included general carpentry work.
