Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Masonry Worker to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of masonry tasks that contribute to the successful completion of residential, commercial, and restoration projects. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life through precise craftsmanship, adherence to safety standards, and efficient use of tools and materials. Duties Interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute masonry work. Build and install concrete forms, ensuring proper alignment and stability for pouring concrete structures. Lay bricks, stones, blocks, and other building materials with precision to create walls, facades, and decorative features. Install rebar (reinforcing steel bars) within concrete forms to strengthen structures according to specifications. Finish concrete surfaces with techniques such as troweling, smoothing, and sealing to achieve desired textures and durability. Perform plastering, stucco application, and caulking to enhance building aesthetics and weatherproofing. Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely for cutting, shaping, lifting, and placing masonry materials. Build masonry scaffolding as needed for elevated or complex work areas while maintaining safety protocols. Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, schematics, and technical specifications accurately. Execute renovation and restoration projects by matching existing masonry styles and materials seamlessly. Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, drywall installers, and other trades to ensure cohesive project progress. Qualifications Proven experience in concrete masonry work with a strong understanding of building material installation techniques. Proficiency in construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and technical drawing analysis. Hands-on experience with bricklaying, stone masonry, tile laying, plastering, stucco application, and mortar work. Skilled in using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels as well as power tools including saws and drills. Knowledge of rebar installation procedures and concrete forming processes for structural integrity. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely on construction sites while adhering to all safety protocols. Familiarity with building codes related to masonry work and safety standards in construction environments. Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand long hours, lift heavy materials safely, and work at heights when necessary. Experience interpreting technical drawings or schematics related to construction plans is highly desirable.
