Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bilingual Demolition Specialist to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely executing demolition projects while effectively communicating in both English and Spanish. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of various construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse demolition tasks, including building removal, site clearing, and material disposal, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency. Responsibilities Safely perform demolition activities across various construction sites, including interior and exterior structures. Interpret and follow detailed construction plans and technical drawings to ensure precise demolition work. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and skid steers with skill and safety awareness. Use hand tools and power tools for tasks like window removal, door hanging, masonry, and flooring removal. Assist with the installation of building materials such as stucco, trim carpentry, cabinetry, and roofing components during remodeling projects. Conduct construction inspections to verify compliance with safety protocols and project specifications. Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish with team members, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate tasks efficiently. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard recognition, and site safety procedures. Support other construction activities such as caulking, tile laying, masonry work, electrical installations, plumbing, window installation, and hardscape work as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly handling tools and disposing of debris responsibly. Qualifications Proven experience in demolition within a construction setting; familiarity with construction projects is preferred. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required for effective communication across diverse teams. Strong knowledge of construction management principles, estimating techniques, and inspection procedures. Skilled in operating heavy equipment such as excavators or loaders safely on outdoor work sites. Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints (Bluebeam experience is a plus), and construction plans. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, roofing materials, masonry techniques, tile laying, flooring installation, and cabinet installation. Knowledge of building materials including stucco, hardscape elements, drywall finishing (trim carpentry), electrical systems, plumbing components, caulking & sealing products. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills related to remodeling or demolition challenges. Valid certifications in construction safety protocols; additional certifications like OSHA are advantageous.
