Position Summary The Plumbing Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and gas piping systems serving academic, residential, and auxiliary facilities across campus. This position supports safe, reliable building operations and responds to both routine maintenance and emergency service needs while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and university policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Repair/replace components of commercial and residential flush valves and water closets
• Repair/replace water fountains and components
• Repair/replace sink fixtures, drains, and associated appurtenance
• Preform minor repairs on existing plumbing systems
• Operate drain cleaning machine to clear blockages in building drainage systems
• Log monthly gas and water meter readings
• Perform monthly plumbing checks on critical infrastructure and known problem areas throughout campus
• Assist other departments with routine maintenance needs
• Respond to after hours emergencies and inclement weather/storm preparation and cleanup
• Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications & Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Arkansas driver's license.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted ?
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, crawl, kneel, walk and stand for extended periods of time?
• Comfortably work at heights?with proper PPE
• Ability to use hand and power tools proficiently
• Ability to work in all-weather conditions
• At least 1 year maintenance experience including plumbing related tasks Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of maintenance and repair of residential and commercial plumbing systems including water closets, sinks, traps, floor drains, tub/shower valves, etc.
• Experience in drain cleaning
• Experience with commercial hydronic Chilled/Heating water systems
• Arkansas Journeyman/Master Plumbing license
• Boiler Operator license
• RPZ / Backflow prevention certification
• Experience working in a university, hospital, or large campus environment
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
• 5 years combined experience in boiler and plumbing systems Location, Environment, & Physical Demands Main Campus
