Job Description
R.T. Moore Co., Inc., a family-owned mechanical contractor, is seeking a skilled Plumber II to install, repair, and service plumbing systems for residential, multi-family, and commercial construction projects. In this field-based role, you'll read blueprints, rough-in and set fixtures, troubleshoot piping and mechanical issues, and ensure all work meets code, safety, and quality standards. You'll collaborate closely with HVAC and mechanical teams, support and mentor apprentices, and benefit from strong training, steady work, and clear paths for advancement with a growing contractor. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems on residential, multi-family, and commercial projects Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to complete quality installations Troubleshoot piping, fixtures, and mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs Work closely with foremen, apprentices, and HVAC/mechanical teams to meet project schedules Ensure all work meets local codes, safety standards, and company quality expectations Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe, organized condition Document work performed and communicate progress or issues to supervisors and project managers Train and mentor apprentices, supporting their skill development and safety practices Required Skills Plumbing system installation Pipefitting and soldering Reading blueprints and schematics Use of hand and power plumbing tools Backflow and fixture installation Mechanical systems troubleshooting Knowledge of plumbing codes Brazing and welding basics Jobsite safety practices Documentation and reporting
