The Plumber, Licensed inspects, repairs, modifies, and maintains plumbing fixtures in heating, water, and drainage systems to preserve the safe functioning and quality of all systems throughout the facilities. Further the Plumber, Licensed provides mentorship and supervision to junior plumbers and performs the more complex repairs and modifications.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs work orders and participates in projects as directed. Keeps daily logs on major components up to date. Identifies electrical, plumbing, and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action. Reads and interprets blueprints to repair plumbing systems. Maintains piping systems by opening clogged drains, replacing washers, and repairing leaky faucets. Completes scheduled preventive maintenance. Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance and reports anomalies to appropriate staff. Repairs circulator and sump pumps, refrigeration unit's drains, bearings, universal joints, and similar mechanical equipment. Prepares and maintains accurate records and files on equipment and facility preventative maintenance. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
Certification and Licensing:
Valid Miami-Dade County Plumber License required. Valid State of Florida Driver's License required. Medical Gas Certification (ASSE 6010 or equivalent) preferred. Refer to the department description for applicable certification requirements.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
