Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, dependable Service Call Plumber to perform plumbing service, diagnostic, repair, replacement, and maintenance work at residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate can independently respond to service calls, accurately diagnose plumbing problems, explain repair options to customers, complete quality repairs, and document all work performed. This position requires strong technical plumbing skills, professionalism, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage service calls efficiently from initial diagnosis through completion. Primary Responsibilities
- Respond to scheduled and emergency residential and commercial plumbing service calls.
- Diagnose plumbing problems and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Repair and replace faucets, toilets, sinks, garbage disposals, shower valves, tub valves, hose bibs, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Diagnose and repair leaking, damaged, clogged, or failed water and drain piping.
- Perform drain clearing and troubleshooting of drainage and sewer problems.
- Repair and replace water supply lines, shutoff valves, pressure-reducing valves, and related components.
- Diagnose, repair, replace, and install residential and commercial water heaters, including tank and tankless systems when qualified.
- Troubleshoot low water pressure, intermittent water supply, leaks, and other plumbing system problems.
- Perform plumbing fixture installations and replacements.
- Identify potential water leaks and determine their source when reasonably accessible.
- Perform minor plumbing modifications and repiping associated with service and repair work.
- Inspect plumbing systems and identify conditions requiring immediate repair, preventive maintenance, or future replacement.
- Perform preventive plumbing maintenance for residential and commercial customers.
- Follow applicable plumbing codes, manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and safety requirements.
- Protect customer property by maintaining a clean and organized work area and using appropriate floor and property protection.

- Listen to the customer's concerns and thoroughly investigate the reported plumbing problem.

- Obtain appropriate authorization before performing additional work outside the original service request.
- Notify management when a job requires additional technicians, specialty equipment, permitting, extensive excavation, or work outside the plumber's authorized scope.

- Document completed work, materials used, equipment information, and recommendations.
- Take before-and-after photographs when required.

- Minimum 3-5 years of plumbing service and repair experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with residential and/or commercial plumbing systems.
- Ability to independently diagnose common plumbing problems.
- Knowledge of plumbing fixtures, piping systems, valves, water heaters, drainage systems, and plumbing repair methods.
- Ability to read basic plumbing plans, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
- Working knowledge of applicable plumbing and safety requirements.
- Ability to use standard plumbing hand tools, power tools, drain equipment, diagnostic equipment, and testing devices.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a company service vehicle.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and company personnel.
- Ability to accurately document service calls and materials used.
- Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and capable of working independently.
- Plumbing license/certification where required by state or local regulations. Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry plumbing equipment and materials typically weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
- Work while standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Work in attics, crawlspaces, mechanical rooms, under sinks, and other confined areas when safe and appropriate.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Safely use ladders and plumbing equipment.
- Perform physically demanding plumbing repairs throughout the workday.
Commercial Service Expectations The plumber may be dispatched to offices, restaurants, retail facilities, multifamily properties, community facilities, warehouses, and other commercial properties. Commercial responsibilities may include fixture repairs, restroom plumbing, water heater service, drain problems, supply-line repairs, valve replacement, leak investigation, and other general plumbing service work within the technician's qualifications. The plumber must understand that commercial properties may require coordination with property managers, maintenance departments, tenants, business owners, and other contractors. Workmanship & Performance Standards Correctly diagnose plumbing problems and complete repairs properly the first time whenever reasonably possible. Minimize callbacks and warranty-related service. Maintain professional communications with customers. Complete service calls efficiently without sacrificing workmanship. Accurately report labor, materials and additional work required.
