Responsible for performing inspections and repairs on water, steam, gas, and drainage systems in the hospital.Responsibilities:
Repairs, tests, inspects, and installs plumbing and steam equipment in accordance with current codes and safety regulations Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing Knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty Performs a variety of complicated tasks Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited training school in plumbing required Must be able to read blue prints, equipment schematics and wiring diagrams Certification or licensure in plumbing required within 90 days of hireWorking Conditions:
Must be able to lift or move up to 75 lbs Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position Typical equipment used in a clinical job Work in confined spaces for short periods of time Exposure to electrical/ mechanical harm, i.e faulty equipment Exposure to hazardous chemicals, acids, cleaning solution, disinfectants, soaps, etc. Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend Must be able to climb stairs or ladders Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.About Kootenai Health:
