Apprenticeship $ Paid Full Time Part Time Description Plumbing Technician intern working alongside licensed plumbers at Simply Water Heaters. This is a paid, hands-on learning position through the EARN Indiana program. The intern rides along and assists on residential and light commercial plumbing service and install work, learning the trade from the ground up. No prior plumbing experience required, just a willingness to show up, work hard, and learn. Responsibilities Assist licensed plumbers on service calls and installation jobs Help with drain cleaning, fixture installs, water heater work, and re-pipes Load, unload, and restock the service truck at the start and end of each day Keep tools, materials, and the work area clean and organized Learn to read job tickets and follow the scope of each call Follow all safety procedures and code requirements on every job Communicate professionally with customers and the office Other duties as assigned by the lead plumber Qualifications Currently enrolled student, eligible for the EARN Indiana program Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the shop Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in tight or awkward spaces Comfortable being on your feet for a full workday Basic mechanical aptitude and good hand skills Dependable, on time, and willing to take direction Learning Objectives Understand basic plumbing systems, including water supply and drain, waste, and vent Learn common fixtures and how they are installed and serviced Learn water heater types, installation, and basic troubleshooting Learn proper and safe use of hand tools, power tools, and drain equipment Learn how permits, inspections, and plumbing code apply to real jobs Build customer service and jobsite communication skills Develop the work habits and safety awareness expected of a plumbing professional
