The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential and light commercial plumbing systems while delivering exceptional customer service. This position requires strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. The Plumbing Service Technician serves as a frontline representative of Metro Plumbing Contractors and is expected to maintain a professional appearance, communicate effectively with customers, and uphold the company's standards of safety, integrity, and craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair plumbing problems in residential and commercial properties.
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures, water heaters, piping systems, drains, and related equipment.
- Perform drain cleaning, leak detection, and system troubleshooting.
- Conduct inspections and identify plumbing deficiencies or code violations.
- Provide customers with clear explanations of problems, repair options, and recommended solutions.
- Prepare accurate estimates and document work performed.
- Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and safety standards.
- Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
- Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and other required documentation.
- Promote additional services or system improvements when appropriate and beneficial to customers.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of plumbing service experience.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, fixtures, and repair techniques.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues independently.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to pass background and drug screening requirements, if applicable. Required Certifications
- Journeyman Plumber License or equivalent certification.
