We are growing something special in Kansas City and would love to add the right person to our team! The Skilled Craftsman-Plumbing at KCBR plays a vital role in performing skilled plumbing work across a variety of residential projects. This role requires extensive plumbing experience and a thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations (plumbing license not required). The Skilled Craftsman-Plumbing will independently execute plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring work meets or exceeds high-quality and safety standards; mentor apprentice plumbers and assist with training as necessary. Work is clean, indoor projects. Consistent, regular hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    Skill:
    : Perform skilled plumbing work for remodeling projects including installation, maintenance, and repair of water, drainage, gas, and other plumbing systems with minimal supervision.
      Code Compliance :
      Ensure all plumbing work adheres to relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
        Problem Solving :
        Diagnose plumbing issues, recommend solutions, and carry out repairs efficiently and effectively.
          Documentation :
          Complete accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project timelines.
            Collaboration :
            Work with other team members, including project directors, designers and fellow field team members to ensure project goals are met.
              Mentorship :
              Provide guidance to plumbing apprentices, sharing expertise and fostering skill development as needed.
                Customer Service :
                Interact professionally with clients, addressing questions or concerns and ensuring satisfaction with completed work.
                  Inventory & Tools :
                  Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and manage inventory of plumbing materials.
                    Emergency Response :
                    Respond to urgent plumbing issues or emergencies as needed during scheduled hours.
                    Required Skills and Abilities:
                    • Extensive plumbing knowledge and experience
                    • 3-5 years experience preferred.
                    • Ability to work independently.
                    • Ability to motivate team and provide clear direction.
                    • Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions under pressure or when facing unexpected occurrences or delays.
                    • Critical thinking skills to solve problems considering time, scope, and budget.
                    • Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving records at all times.

                    • Efficient resource stewardship including time management, team resources, vehicle mileage and supply procurement.

                    • Consistently performs quality work and completes assigned jobs on time, within scope, and in accordance with projected costs, minimizing setbacks and re-work.

                    • Receives consistently high scores on client satisfaction surveys.
                    • Communication
                    • Effectively communicates with clients, management, and team members, solving problems constructively and proactively. Responsible for daily reports with detailed notes to PD, keeping them informed of any schedule or material impacts and maintaining project schedules. Demonstrates a sense of urgency to keep projects on schedule.
                    • Proactive Management
                    • Presents minimal surprises to managers and the design team regarding job status, displaying initiative and proactive problem-solving skills. Provides guidance to plumbing team members. Ability to handle team questions and minimize escalations.
                    • Buildertrend Proficiency
                    • Proficiently uses Buildertrend and ensures accurate input of information needed.
                    Possesses comprehensive knowledge of KCBR phases and ensures adherence to company procedures and standards throughout the project. Consistently publishes daily logs with informative information on the project.
                    Physical Requirements:
                    • Ability to move around and inspect all areas of job sites, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
                    • Occasional lifting and transporting of materials up to 100lbs.
                    • Travel between job sites.
                    Company Items:
                    • Hourly position with availability from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
                    • Company vehicle provided during work hours.
