Marine Welder & Plumber RCC Shoreside Services, LLC New Bedford, MA Job Details Full-time $25 - $40 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Teamwork Outdoor work experience TIG welding Water systems Pipe welding Equipment maintenance Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Marine Welder and Plumber to join our seafood operations in New Bedford. This role focuses on high-quality welding, metal fabrication, and comprehensive plumbing maintenance across our shoreside infrastructure and maritime environment. The ideal candidate ensures operational safety, compliance, and minimal downtime by repairing commercial fishing vessels, transport equipment, facility assets, and complex fluid piping systems.
Key Responsibilities Welding & Fabrication:
Perform multi-process welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) on stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel for structural repairs.
Plumbing & Fluid Systems:
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain facility plumbing, commercial processing piping, vessel bilge and washdown systems, water supply lines, and drainage networks.
Vessel Repairs:
Fabricate and repair structural components, hull elements, deck machinery, and rigging systems on commercial fishing vessels.
Fleet Maintenance:
Structural welding and minor metal repairs on transport trucks, trailers, and facility utility frames.
Facility Support:
Maintain shoreside processing equipment, ice plants, and high-volume fluid distribution layouts.
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with vessel captains, truck drivers, and plant managers to prioritize emergency repairs and scheduled upkeep.
Qualifications and Skills Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience combining industrial welding and commercial plumbing or pipefitting , preferably in a maritime, shipyard, or seafood processing setting.
Technical Skills:
Proven competency in multi-process welding alongside active troubleshooting and repair of complex fluid and water supply systems.
Material Knowledge:
Strong understanding of marine-grade metals, corrosion prevention in saltwater environments, and pipe materials (PVC, copper, stainless, black iron).
Problem Solving:
Ability to diagnose structural and plumbing issues quickly under operational pressure.
Physical Stamina:
Comfortable working in confined vessel spaces, outdoor docks, wet environments, and varying weather conditions.
Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
