Job Description

  • Job Title:
    Journeyman Plumber (Scale Wage $54/hr)
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on commercial plumbing work for new construction, renovation, and maintenance projects in HVAC and plumbing systems across commercial and high-rise residential buildings. You will play a key part in delivering high-quality mechanical services, coordinating manpower and materials, and supporting project goals on a large-scale fit-out project.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Collaborate closely with Project Managers and other staff to ensure all manpower and material requirements are planned, available, and on site when needed.
+ Coordinate with mechanics, helpers, and other foremen to build a strong sense of teamwork, cooperation, and morale on the job site. + Develop and maintain strong customer relationships when project interactions require direct communication. + Maintain a safe work environment by following safety procedures, identifying hazards, and promoting safe work practices. + Provide daily direction, guidance, and hands-on training to apprentices to support their technical development and productivity. + Install, assemble, and repair plumbing systems, piping, and related mechanical components in commercial construction environments. + Perform new construction plumbing installations, including layout, fitting, soldering, and mechanical connections for commercial projects. + Work with welding and piping systems as required for commercial construction and fit-out projects. + Read, understand, and work from drawings, specifications, and schematics to complete installations accurately and efficiently. + Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work, resolve issues, and meet project deadlines. + Adapt to working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining quality and safety standards. + Interact professionally with a variety of personality types while maintaining a positive and productive work atmosphere.
  • Essential Skills
  • + 5-10 years of commercial plumbing experience in construction environments.
+ Proficiency in plumbing installation, construction, and mechanical plumbing work. + Hands-on experience with piping installation, new construction plumbing, and commercial construction projects. + Ability to perform soldering and related mechanical connections for plumbing systems. + Experience working with welding and piping systems in commercial settings. + Ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, specifications, and schematics. + Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. + Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. + Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining quality. + Reliable attendance, dependability, and flexibility to meet project needs. + Ability to work effectively with diverse personality types and maintain positive outcomes. + Active journeyman plumber license in the state of Maryland.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems is a plus. + Experience on large commercial fit-out projects is beneficial. + Demonstrated ability to mentor and train apprentices on the job. + Experience building strong customer relationships in a commercial construction environment.

  • Work Environment
  • This position is based on an approximately eight-month commercial fit-out project in Baltimore.
You will work on site as part of a growing team, with plans to expand from an initial group of around five tradespeople to more than twenty as the project progresses. The work environment is fast-paced and construction-focused, involving hands-on plumbing, piping, and mechanical installations in commercial and high-rise residential buildings. You will work with typical construction tools and equipment for plumbing, piping, soldering, and welding, while adhering to job site safety standards and site-specific requirements. Hours and shifts align with standard commercial construction schedules, with expectations for reliability, flexibility, and safe work practices at all times.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
