Position Overview As our Master Service Plumber, you represent the highest level of technical expertise at True North. You'll handle our most complex diagnostic calls, oversee large-scale residential infrastructure projects, manage permit filings, and help train our team on Michigan Plumbing Codes and best practices. No two days are the same. One day you might be leading a high-value customer walkthrough for a full-house repipe and boiler upgrade. Next, you could be troubleshooting an elusive gas pressure anomaly, conducting a quality audit on a completed job, or pulling permits with local inspection authorities. Our goal isn't just to fix today's problem. It's to build the most respected plumbing company in Michigan. What You'll Do Your master-level skill set ensures our field work stays bulletproof:

Solve High-Level Technical Issues:

Handle the toughest diagnostic calls—cross-connection risks, complex gas sizing, structural sewer failures, and high-capacity water heater applications.

Lead High-Value Consultations:

Guide homeowners through major infrastructure upgrades (repipes, sewer replacements, premium water treatment systems) with clear, professional Good / Better / Best proposals.

Permitting & Compliance:

Pull permits through Michigan LARA and local jurisdictions, ensuring 100% code compliance across all residential installations.

Code Leadership & Quality Audits:

Perform periodic job site inspections, conduct technical training sessions, and ensure our Journeymen, Tradesmen, and Apprentices build according to state code.

Qualifications 7 or more years of residential/commercial service experience. Valid Michigan Master Plumber License in good standing. Mastery of the current Michigan Plumbing Code (IPC base), hydraulic pressure dynamics, gas piping design, cross-connection control, and complex venting systems. Proven ability to present large-scale project options clearly and build trust with homeowners. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass background check and drug screen.
