Job Description
Joe's on Jolly is a full service restaurant and bar driven by elevating the neighborhood pub. Located in Okemos, near East Lansing off of 1-96. JoJ's ambiance blends modern industrial and vintage design for an unique experience. Come be a part of this new restaurant concept, positions are filling quickly so urgency is a must!! It's time to gather in the neighborhood pub again! Responsibilities for Line Cook Prepare prep and stocking your station Cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes Perform portion control and minimize waste Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by working efficiently to meet ticket times Maintain a clean workstation area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards set by local health officials and Executive Chef Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line supervisor, sous-chef, or executive chef Qualifications for Line Cook 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort. Scratch Kitchen experience preferred. Understanding of cooking methods and procedures Knife handling skills Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail. Ability to multitask is a must. Ability to read and follow cooking directions, and recipes. Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment Must be organized and self-motivated Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials up to and potentially exceeding 50 pounds
