Job Description

NIFCO is seeking a dedicated and motivated Apprentice Plumber to join our growing field team in Lincoln. As a leader in the design and installation of mechanical systems, NIFCO offers a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience with a variety of piping systems. Our team collaborates closely with architects, engineers, and other trades to deliver integrated solutions for our clients. Responsibilities Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems under the guidance of experienced plumbers. Learn to select appropriate types and sizes of pipes, materials, and equipment according to project specifications. Inspect work sites to identify potential obstructions and ensure safe and effective pipe routing. Help plan installations and repairs to coordinate with other trades and minimize disruptions. Cut, thread, and fabricate pipes as needed for various projects. Assemble and install metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, and CPVC piping. Connect pipes using threaded, grooved, or cemented joints and secure them with brackets, clamps, and hangers. Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and monitoring gauges. Observe and report any malfunctions in fabrication machines on job sites. Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid drivers license required; assistance provided to obtain an Apprentice License. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and construction documents. Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Willingness to learn to read blueprints and isometric drawings. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly (occasionally up to 100 pounds). Comfort working in various environments, including wet or humid conditions, heights, and exposure to temperature extremes. Compensation $20 and up per hour (based on experience and knowledge).
