Job Description
Under the general supervision of the MEP Superintendent, Senior Plumber, or higher-level supervisor, the Plumber is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting on various piping systems including storm & sanitary system, chilled water, steam, air, gas, high- and low-pressure steam lines, heating systems, air compressors, or pneumatic controls. Modifies and repairs existing plumbing, replacing valves and other components. Performs minor repairs to pumps and troubleshoots problems with equipment. Unclogs commodes, sinks and sewage lines. Replaces traps. Assists other trades with installations and repairs. Assists in locating utilities in response to OUPS (Ohio Utilities Protection Services) requests. Inspects, maintains, and repairs utility tunnels and steam and condensate systems. Responds to after-hours emergencies; works during inclement weather; and works to support various events on campus during non-business hours Performs related duties based on departmental need The following Experience is required: One year experience required The following Education is required: High school diploma or GED required Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the University's insurance
