Full-Service Plumbing, Drain & Excavation Technician Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service - Norwalk, Ohio We are looking for an experienced Full-Service Plumbing, Drain & Excavation Technician who can handle residential service work from start to finish. This is not a position for someone who only wants to turn wrenches. We need someone who can diagnose problems, communicate with customers, explain options, ask for the sale, perform the work, and take ownership of the entire service call. What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of residential service plumbing experience Strong customer service and people skills Comfortable recommending and selling needed repairs Comfortable discussing pricing, handling objections, and asking for the work Able to diagnose and perform common residential plumbing repairs Able to troubleshoot toilets, faucets, sump pumps, water heaters, hose bibs, drain and sewer problems, and other residential plumbing issues Able to plan and perform underground sewer repairs and excavation work Experience with sewer cleaning is a plus Sewer camera and locating experience is a plus Excavator or backhoe operating experience is a strong plus Plumbing license or certifications are a plus, but not required Must be coachable and willing to follow our service and sales process Must be comfortable using a phone or tablet for dispatching, estimates, invoices, photos, documentation, and customer signatures Must maintain a professional appearance and treat customers' homes with respect Must have a clean driving record and be insurable Must be physically capable of performing plumbing, drain, sewer, and excavation work Must be available for rotating Saturdays and after-hours/on-call work when needed The Type of Person We Want We want someone who is competitive, motivated, dependable, professional, and hungry to earn. You should be comfortable talking with homeowners, explaining what you find, showing customers photos or camera footage when appropriate, presenting repair options, and confidently asking which option they would like to move forward with. We do not believe in high-pressure sales. We believe in finding the problem, showing the customer what is happening, explaining the options honestly, and letting the customer make an informed decision. Integrity matters. If something does not need repaired or replaced, we expect you to say so. You will have help available when you need it, but you are expected to think, troubleshoot, and take responsibility for your work. Drain & Sewer Work Drain-cleaning experience is preferred but we are willing to train an experienced residential service plumber who can learn quickly. We use sewer cameras whenever access allows. Our technicians are expected to inspect the sewer, invite the customer to see what was found, explain the condition of the line, and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance. When excavation or sewer replacement is needed, you should be capable of helping take that job from diagnosis through completion, including planning the dig, performing the repair, backfilling, rough grading, cleanup, and basic restoration.

Compensation Guaranteed base pay:

$28.00-$30.00 per hour depending on experience and ability. Qualified technicians can earn 20% commission on commission jobs. This position is designed for someone who wants the opportunity to earn more by producing more. Location Applicants living within approximately 40 miles of Norwalk, Ohio are preferred. Applicants living farther away are welcome to apply, but we will want to know that the commute is realistic and sustainable.
