Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Non-Union Utility Journeyman Plumber to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across various commercial construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that plumbing installations meet all safety standards, building codes, and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize your mechanical knowledge, and contribute to high-quality construction outcomes. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional service while adhering to all safety regulations. This is plumbing utility work outside the building. (Utilities, sewer lines, meters, gas lines. etc.) Duties Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, gas piping systems, and drainage in new construction and remodeling projects Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise plumbing installations Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools efficiently and safely Ensure compliance with local building codes, plumbing building codes, and safety regulations during all phases of work Repair or replace of existing plumbing systems in commercial settings to ensure optimal operation Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and clients to coordinate work schedules and meet project deadlines Conduct pipe installation including cutting, threading, fitting, welding, and assembly of piping systems for water supply, drainage, and gas piping systems Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, safety inspections, and compliance records Lift heavy materials safely while following proper ergonomics; perform site cleanup and ensure work areas are safe and organized Qualifications Valid Journeyman Plumber license with proven experience as a utility plumber in construction environments Extensive construction site experience with commercial plumbing projects Strong knowledge of plumbing system repair procedures along with building code compliance standards Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately Proficient in using hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters; power tools including drills; welding equipment; pipe threading machines; HVAC tools; carpentry tools for remodeling projects Experience working with gas piping systems and understanding of local building codes related to plumbing installations Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards; ability to follow safety protocols diligently Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of schematics; basic math skills for measurements and calculations Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; experience with maintenance operations; handyman skills beneficial for versatile job functions Valid driver's license Join us if you're ready to bring your plumbing expertise into a fast-paced construction environment where your skills make a real difference!
