Job Description
Aerotek is hiring immediately for a Plumber in Wilmington, DE! This position offers weekly pay. Job Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plumber to support renovation and retrofit projects in a heavy industrial environment. This role focuses on installing, modifying, and maintaining plumbing systems as part of equipment and facility upgrades, rather than new construction. You will work in confined and complex mechanical spaces, using your craftsmanship and mechanical aptitude to deliver safe, high-quality plumbing solutions. Responsibilities Install and assemble plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and waste lines, as part of renovation and retrofit projects in a heavy industrial setting. Remove, replace, and modify existing piping systems during equipment and facility upgrades. Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of piping using copper, black iron, and other approved materials. Execute soldering and brazing of copper piping to create secure, leak-free connections. Cut, thread, and install black iron pipe in accordance with job specifications and project requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute renovation work accurately. Test plumbing systems for leaks, pressure integrity, and proper operation after installation or modification. Troubleshoot plumbing issues and adapt installations to existing structures and system constraints. Ensure all plumbing work complies with applicable safety standards, codes, and internal quality requirements. Work effectively in confined spaces and around existing mechanical systems while maintaining safety and productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including fabrication, electrical, and mechanical personnel, during renovation and retrofit projects. Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, materials, and work areas to support efficient and safe operations. Document completed work, record any changes or modifications, and communicate issues or required follow-up to the appropriate team members. Essential Skills Proven experience as a plumber in industrial, construction, or renovation environments. Strong experience soldering and brazing copper piping to create durable, leak-free joints. Hands-on experience working with black iron pipe, including cutting, threading, and installation. Demonstrated ability to modify or tie into existing plumbing systems during renovation or retrofit work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Solid understanding of plumbing systems, safety standards, and applicable codes. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when working in complex mechanical spaces. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team. Comfort working in confined spaces and in physically demanding, industrial conditions. Proficiency using common plumbing and mechanical hand tools safely and effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in heavy industrial or traditional manufacturing environments. Experience in renovation and retrofit projects rather than new construction. Familiarity with general labor tasks in construction or production settings. Ability to maintain organized work areas and manage tools and materials efficiently. Strong communication skills for documenting work and coordinating with cross-functional teams. Reliability, strong work ethic, and pride in craftsmanship in a hands-on trade role.
Day Shift:
7AM-4PM M-F Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, DE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
