General Statement of Duties This is a full-time 12 month position. The contract for this position begins on July 1, 2024. This position entails teaching knowledge and skills necessary for the installation servicing of plumbing/piping systems and concepts to include different types of piping, methods of joining pipes, and interpreting blueprints. This includes the inspection, repairing and maintenance of plumbing/piping systems. Examples of systems include potable water, sanitary, stormwater, sprinkler and fire sprinkler. Emphasis will be placed on safety protocols, use of tools, compliance with industry standards and effective communication and organization. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in sprinkler pipe fitting. The selected candidate must hold a valid tradesmen license. The selected candidate will be required to gain a valid Virginia Technical Professional License Essential Duties The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
