Most Plumbers Can Fix a Water Heater. We're Looking for Someone Who Can Find the Problem No One Else Can. Leak Detection Specialist / Service Plumber Blue Collars Plumbing & HVAC | Charleston, SC At Blue Collars, we're not looking for an average service plumber. We're looking for the person everyone else calls when the job gets complicated. The technician who can walk into a property, diagnose where water is coming from, isolate the problem, explain it clearly to the customer, and make the repair the right way. Someone who is just as comfortable performing advanced leak detection as they are handling everyday residential and commercial service plumbing. If you enjoy troubleshooting, problem-solving, variety, and taking ownership of your work, keep reading. This Isn't Just a Leak Detection Position Some days you'll be tracking down a difficult hidden leak. Other days you'll be running normal plumbing service calls, diagnosing drainage issues, replacing fixtures, repairing water heaters, or helping with a commercial project. We need someone who can do both. A strong service plumber with the patience, technical ability, and investigative mindset required to become one of our go-to leak detection specialists. What You'll Be Doing Residential and commercial plumbing service Advanced water leak detection and diagnostics Locating hidden leaks in walls, floors, ceilings, slabs, and underground piping Troubleshooting unexplained water usage and pressure loss Diagnosing plumbing systems before opening walls or concrete whenever possible Water heater repair and replacement Drain and sewer diagnostics Plumbing repairs and installations Fixture installation and replacement Water line, waste, and vent system repairs Commercial tenant upfits and remodels Reading and interpreting plumbing drawings Coordinating project work in the field Working directly with homeowners, property managers, contractors, and other project stakeholders Clearly explaining findings, recommendations, and repair options to customers The Kind of Technician Who Thrives Here You probably: Are already a strong service plumber Enjoy figuring out problems other technicians struggle to diagnose Have strong troubleshooting instincts Pay attention to the small details Don't need someone constantly looking over your shoulder Take pride in finding the actual cause of a problem instead of guessing Communicate well with customers Care about quality workmanship Are comfortable working independently Want more responsibility and opportunity Want to continue learning new diagnostic tools and techniques Experience with leak detection equipment, thermal imaging, acoustic equipment, pressure testing, tracer methods, underground locating, or slab leak diagnostics is a major plus.
