Overview Join our dynamic team as a Plumbing Assistant and play a vital role in supporting skilled plumbers and maintenance crews on construction sites and renovation projects. This energetic position offers hands-on experience in plumbing systems, construction site operations, and safety protocols. As a Plumbing Assistant, you'll gain valuable skills while contributing to the successful installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in a fast-paced environment. This paid role is perfect for individuals eager to develop their construction expertise and mechanical knowledge while working alongside experienced professionals. Responsibilities Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems according to blueprints, schematics, and building codes Operate hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, and other equipment safely and efficiently Support pipe fitting, pipe installation, and system troubleshooting on construction sites Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols including power tool safety, field service safety standards, and OSHA guidelines Help with remodeling projects, handyman tasks, and general building maintenance as needed Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality workmanship Requirements Prior construction experience or hands-on work in a construction environment preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing systems Experience with hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques beneficial Strong understanding of building code compliance related to plumbing installations Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on customer service and communication on-site Commitment to safety protocol adherence including power tool safety and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Valid field service experience or handyman background is advantageous Willingness to learn new skills such as pipe installation techniques or remodeling tasks This role offers an exciting opportunity to build a foundation in construction plumbing while working in a supportive environment that values safety, craftsmanship, and professional growth.
