A Journeyman Plumber license is not required for this position . However, we need someone with journeyman-level commercial plumbing knowledge and field experience who can understand the scope of work, read plans, lay out the work, direct helpers, and get the job completed correctly. This is a working lead position . You will be expected to perform the plumbing work alongside your crew, not simply supervise. Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a small plumbing crew of approximately 2 workers. Perform commercial plumbing work on restaurants, retail spaces, offices, and other commercial construction projects. Perform underground plumbing rough-in, above-ground rough-in, top-out, and fixture installation. Install sanitary waste, vent, domestic water, and other commercial plumbing piping. Install plumbing fixtures, floor drains, cleanouts, water heaters, and related equipment. Read commercial plumbing plans, construction drawings, and field layouts. Lay out piping locations, elevations, sleeves, penetrations, and fixture locations. Determine fittings, piping, and materials required for daily work. Coordinate plumbing work with other trades in the field. Troubleshoot field conditions and find practical solutions. Direct helpers and keep the crew productive throughout the day. Communicate material, manpower, and jobsite needs to management. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform other basic construction, maintenance, or handyman work when plumbing work is not available. Requirements Strong commercial plumbing experience required. Experience with commercial new construction and tenant finish-out plumbing strongly preferred. Journeyman-level plumbing ability preferred; Journeyman license is not required . Must be able to read and understand commercial plumbing plans. Must be capable of working independently without constant supervision. Must be comfortable leading and teaching 1-2 helpers or laborers. Must understand proper commercial plumbing installation practices. Must be experienced with common plumbing tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Must be willing to perform other construction or handyman work when needed. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required. Must have a leadership mindset and take responsibility for the quality and completion of the work. Ideal Candidate We are not looking for an entry-level plumber helper . We are looking for someone who has spent several years in the commercial plumbing field and believes they can perform at or near a journeyman level. The right person should be able to walk onto a commercial project, review the plans and field conditions, understand what needs to happen, organize a small crew, and work with them to get the job done.
