Full Job Description Overview:
Polk Mechanical is seeking a Plumber (Medical Gas) Leadman to lead a crew while installing, maintaining, and repairing medical gas piping systems in healthcare and commercial facilities. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in med gas systems, and a commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate a crew in daily plumbing and medical gas installation activities Install, assemble, and maintain medical gas piping systems according to specifications and codes Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents Layout piping systems and determine proper routing, materials, and installation methods Perform pressure testing, inspections, and system verification as required Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and medical gas standards Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and other trades on-site Provide guidance, direction, and training to crew members Monitor work progress and ensure quality and schedule adherence
Qualifications:
Experience in plumbing and medical gas installation required Experience leading or supervising a crew preferred Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and medical gas standards Valid driver's license required Medical Gas Certification required, or willingness to obtain Relevant plumbing license preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong leadership and team management skills Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, including healthcare job sites
