JOB SUMMARY

This position requires a highly motivated, self-starting individual with a positive attitude who needs little oversight in

the daily scope of their duties and work activities. The successful candidate possesses strong verbal and written

communication skills and utilizes those with superiors, subordinates and those associated with the work. They are a

problem solver. The individual is well organized and can effectively prioritize. Follow-up is second nature with this

person. They maintain a strong sense of urgency concerning the scheduling and performance of the work. The person

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Driver License required.
  • 2 plus years of applicable trade experience.
  • Tradesman Plumbing License required.
  • Drain Cleaning endorsement preferred.
  • Certifications as applicable
  • Experience with public school districts or colleges/universities preffered
  • Bilingual is advantageous
    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Opens sewer lines to restrooms, shop areas, kitchens, and water fountains repairing fittings, lines, valves and
    other plumbing fixtures
  • Responsible for completing preventative maintenance on plumbing fixtures, equipment and related piping
    systems.
  • Assists in the preparation of gas inspection in accordance with plumbing codes
  • Installs, repairs and/or maintains all aspects of plumbing systems throughout the district, including but not
    limited to gas, water, waste and vent systems, domestic water, domestic hot water and circulating pumps.
  • Repairs and/or replaces various plumbing fixtures or water, waste water or vent line inside or outside of the
    buildings
  • Repairs and/or replaces storm drainage pipe as well as any new plumbing installation
  • Maintains all equipment used in plumbing department
  • Orders materials, plans jobs and estimates cost on limited basis
  • Performs related duties as required
  • Demonstrates quality customer service daily.
  • Is committed to working safely at all times.
  • On-call Nights and weekends
GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • May collaborate with department staff, principals, upper-level administrators, outside consultants, vendors
    and contractors in the daily execution of duties.
  • Assesses condition of district's facilities and building systems and provides written communication for use
    with work orders, budgeting and long-range planning.
  • Coordinates building systems and maintenance work with other departmental functions to ensure quality
    customer service in the district.
  • Uses department's work order system to manage productivity and efficiency of facility repairs and daily
    operations. Tracks work orders and insures that the work is completed in a timely manner. Reviews work
    orders completed for results, time and materials. Verifies completion and quality of work.
  • Assists in selecting, testing and ordering in house supplies, equipment and materials. Insures products are
    safe to use and a proper inventory is maintained.
  • Accepts other responsibilities as assigned by the director.
  • Attends all required meetings
  • Works on special projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of all plumbing systems associated with commercial buildings.
  • Ability to work on and trouble shoot all plumbing systems associated with commercial buildings.
  • Must possess or have the ability to quickly learn the ability
    to utilize computers and associated software/hardware, common to the industry. Possesses excellent people skills.
  • Requires reading, mathematical and written language abilities.

    Kneels, crouches, squats, climbs and lifts several times per week.

      Lifting:

      Lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently lifts up to 35 pounds.

        Environment:

        Location of job may be in the office, shop, warehouse, vehicle, outdoors, on roofs, in crawl spaces,

        above ceilings and below floors. Is frequently exposed to dirt, dust, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, wetness/humidity,

        darkness or poor lighting and extreme temperatures. Is periodically exposed to mechanical, chemical, electrical and

        fire hazards.

          Mental Demands:

          Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

          $36,203.33 to $52,097.47 Per Hour
