Plumbing Mechanic - Ground-Up Data Center Construction Kodiak Labor Solutions is hiring experienced Plumbing Mechanics for a major ground-up data center construction project in Richmond, VA .

Richmond, VA For You This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Plumber, Plumbing Mechanic, or Journeyman Plumber who wants to work on a large-scale, technically demanding new construction data center project . You'll be responsible for installing commercial plumbing systems from underground rough-in through final installation while working from drawings, specifications, and project layouts. What You Will Do Install commercial plumbing systems on a ground-up data center construction project . Perform underground, in-wall, overhead, and equipment-room plumbing installation. Read and work from construction drawings, plumbing plans, specifications, and layouts . Perform layout, measuring, cutting, fitting, fabrication, and installation of piping systems. Cut, thread, groove, fabricate, and assemble pipe using appropriate hand and power tools. Join piping using grooved, threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, solvent-welded, and other approved methods . Install piping and fittings including PVC, CPVC, copper, cast iron, steel, and other specified materials . Install pipe hangers, supports, sleeves, penetrations, valves, drains, fixtures, and plumbing assemblies. Install domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, and equipment drainage systems. Perform pressure tests, leak tests, flushing, inspections, and system verification. Identify installation issues and make field adjustments while maintaining project specifications and quality standards. Coordinate plumbing installation with electrical, HVAC, fire protection, structural, and other construction trades. Maintain productivity and quality while working safely in congested mechanical spaces and active construction areas. Direct and support the work of helpers and apprentices as needed. Follow OSHA requirements, site-specific safety procedures, and data center construction protocols. What We Are Seeking 3+ years of commercial or industrial plumbing experience preferred. Strong experience with ground-up new construction . Experience installing plumbing systems on large-scale commercial or industrial projects. Data center, semiconductor, hospital, manufacturing, or other complex facility experience is highly preferred. Ability to independently read and interpret plumbing drawings, blueprints, isometrics, and layouts . Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing installation methods, materials, fittings, and tools. Proficient with pipe cutting, threading, grooving, fabrication, fitting, and installation. Experience with PVC, copper, cast iron, steel, and commercial piping systems . Knowledge of the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable plumbing requirements. Ability to perform basic construction math, measurements, elevations, and layout. Ability to troubleshoot installation issues and work with limited direct supervision. Ability to direct and support helpers/apprentices. Strong safety mindset and knowledge of OSHA requirements .
