Position Description Summary - Lift Station Specialist We are seeking an experienced Lift Station Specialist to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair wastewater lift stations, pumps, electrical controls, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities :
Troubleshoot wastewater lift station pumps and motors. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control-system problems. Troubleshoot control panels, wiring, relays, contactors, overloads, breakers, and starters. Work with PLCs, VFDs, floats, level sensors, and transducers . Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections. Troubleshoot alarms, high-level conditions, and pump failures. Assist with pump removal, installation, and repairs. Troubleshoot generators, transfer switches, and SCADA systems as needed. Document maintenance, readings, repairs, and equipment conditions. Respond to emergency lift station issues. Follow all safety, LOTO, electrical, and confined-space procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience with wastewater lift stations, pump stations, or industrial pumping systems. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Experience with pumps, motors, PLCs, VFDs, and control panels. Ability to read electrical schematics and control diagrams. Experience with level controls and instrumentation. Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and determine root cause. Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Working Conditions:
This position will require working indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold with rain to very hot and humid, including but not limited to attics, crawl spaces, and confined locations. Must maintain a clean working space while inside or outside of properties. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. This position deals with aggressive personalities in a highly competitive industry and will be stressful. A typical workweek is eight (8) to ten (10) hour workdays, five (5) days per week, as well as early and/or late weekday jobs. Technician must be willing to travel, work weekends and nights if job requires. Technicians may be called for emergency work after hours.
