Pump Technician - Water/Wastewater Utilities Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical equipment and making a real impact in your community? Join our team as a Pump Technician and play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that delivers clean water and reliable wastewater services to our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who takes pride in maintaining equipment, solving complex challenges, and working in a dynamic field environment. What You'll Do As a Pump Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing the pumps and equipment that keep our water and wastewater systems operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on water booster stations, wastewater lift stations, and treatment facility equipment Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using specialized testing and diagnostic tools Disassemble, rebuild, install, and align pumps and rotating equipment Replace bearings, seals, couplings, and other mechanical components Support the installation and startup of new pumps, motors, controls, and system upgrades Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings Complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately Respond to emergency repairs and equipment breakdowns as needed Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE requirements What We're Looking For High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining pumps, motors, or industrial mechanical equipment Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to work outdoors and in various environmental conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in water, wastewater, utilities, industrial, or municipal environments Knowledge of lift stations, booster stations, and treatment plant equipment Experience with motor controls, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting Technical school training or mechanical maintenance certification Knowledge & Skills We're looking for someone who: Enjoys solving mechanical problems Understands pumps, motors, seals, bearings, and hydraulic systems Can troubleshoot equipment failures independently Works safely and efficiently Communicates effectively with team members and customers Takes pride in delivering reliable service Why Join Us?
