Pump Test Technician (Seasonal) About us: Waterway is the largest fire equipment testing company in the United States. We work with local fire departments across New Jersey to test their equipment (primarily fire hose, ground ladders, and pumps) to ensure they meet all performance and safety requirements. Waterway has been growing every year. Last year, we increased our business by over 30% and this year we are striving to continue growing our team and abilities to ensure we can meet all our customers' needs. About the role : The Pump Tester is responsible for conducting performance testing on fire apparatus pumps to verify rated capacity, pressure consistency, and operational integrity. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and professionalism when working directly with fire department personnel.
Key Responsabilities:
Perform pump testing in accordance with NFPA standards Measure and document GPM, PSI, intake/discharge pressures, and vacuum performance Set up and operate calibrated flow devices and gauges Identify performance deficiencies and communicate findings clearly Complete detailed test reports and compliance documentation Maintain and calibrate testing equipment Travel to assigned departments and represent the company professionally Support hose and equipment testing operations as needed
Qualifications:
Mechanical or technical aptitude (fire service, automotive, diesel, hydraulics, or similar background preferred) Experience with fire apparatus or pump operations is a strong plus Ability to read gauges and interpret performance data accurately Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions Strong communication skills when interacting with fire department personnel

Pay:
$20.00 per hour
