Pump Test Technician (Seasonal) Hands-on work. No experience required. Room to grow.

Waterway is the largest fire equipment testing company in the U.S., partnering with fire departments across the region to keep their pumps, hoses, and ladders ready for the field. We're growing fast — up 30%+ last year alone — and we're looking for reliable, mechanically-minded people to join our seasonal testing crew in the Hudson Valley. Why you'll like it here: Full training provided — we'll teach you the pump testing process from day one Work outdoors, stay active, and see a different site (and a different fire department) regularly Be part of a company that's expanding year after year, with opportunities for advancement Meaningful work — you're helping make sure life-saving equipment performs when it matters most What you'll do: Test fire apparatus pumps for capacity, pressure, and performance against NFPA standards Measure and record GPM, PSI, and vacuum readings using calibrated equipment Spot and clearly report any performance issues Complete test reports and documentation Travel to assigned departments, representing Waterway professionally Pitch in on hose and equipment testing as needed What we're looking for: Mechanical or technical aptitude — backgrounds in fire service, automotive, diesel, or hydraulics are a plus, but not required Comfortable reading gauges and following data-driven procedures Valid driver's license, willing to travel regionally Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in different weather Friendly, professional communication style

Pay:
$20.00 per hour

Our crew travels out of town about once per month on average. This means 3, 4, or even 5 nights on the road, Monday through Friday.
