ABOUT THE COMPANY
Turbine, Pump & Compressor LLC (TPC) is a specialized industrial repair and field service company focused on turbomachinery and rotating equipment. We support refining, chemical, petrochemical, and midstream customers across the Texas Gulf Coast with shop overhaul, field service, inspection, and project management capabilities.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to join our shop team. The successful candidate will perform hands-on disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of industrial centrifugal, API, and positive displacement pumps, along with related rotating equipment components, in a fast-paced industrial repair environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble industrial pumps (centrifugal, API, multi-stage, vertical, and positive displacement) Measure and document critical clearances, fits, and dimensions using precision measuring tools Identify worn, damaged, or out-of-tolerance components (impellers, wear rings, shafts, bearings, seals) and recommend repair or replacement Perform bearing, mechanical seal, packing, and shaft-related work to manufacturer and shop standards Support field service work as needed, including on-site pump installation, alignment support, and troubleshooting Follow all safety procedures, quality processes, and documentation requirements Work closely with Project Managers, shop leads, and QA/QC to ensure quality and schedule adherence
REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of hands-on experience with industrial pumps (shop or field) Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings, manuals, and work scopes Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, feeler gauges, etc.) Familiarity with mechanical seals, packing, bearings, and common pump failure modes Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a shop environment Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check / drug screen Willingness to support occasional field work and overtime as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Goulds, Worthington, Flowserve, Sulzer, IMO, or similar industrial pump brands Previous work in a rotating equipment repair shop or OEM service environment Familiarity with API pump standards and common refinery/chemical plant applications TWIC card or ability to obtain one
