The Rigging and Lifting Coach is a highly specialized safety and technical expert who mentors personnel, verifies lifting plans, and enforces Saipem safety standards on the worksite. The objective is to coach, train, guide and otherwise assist onsite rigging, lifting and operations teams with the overall aim of improving practical rigging and lifting and banksman skills. Ensuring that Saipem rigging and lifting and HSE procedures are properly implemented on-site during all operations. Guide personnel in implementation of same. Guide personnel in achieving best industry practices related to rigging and lifting operations. Report to the site operations manager and site HSE manager on any skill related deficiencies and suggest improvements programs to rectify same. Pro-actively engage continuously with the work force, ensuring active guidance and coaching where applicable. This is a "boots on the ground" active coaching role. Aligned with, and in conjunction with the site training matrix and HSE training coordinator, plan, prepare and deliver and generally coordinate small group practical training sessions to the workforce on rigging and lifting subjects. Subjects may include but not necessarily be limited to: correct rigging and lifting practices, duties and responsibilities of the banksman HSE aspects of operations, control of work process, lift planning and lifting operations documentation sling angles, center-of-gravity calculations, and standardized hand signals pre-use checks on slings, shackles, and lifting accessories. DROPS (Dropped Objects Prevention Scheme) checks Act as subject matter expert for all matters related to rigging and lifting practices. Actively take part in and deliver toolbox talks, aligned with Saipem's human performance principles and campaigns
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Coach, Guide and Mentor Rigging and Lifting Operations Personnel Lead by example and exemplify best industry lifting and rigging practices Promote safe operative techniques and methodologies for the planning, of safe control of and execution of lifting activities Proactively coach and engage with personnel to utilize the hazard observation card system. Proactively, coach and guide personnel with regard to pre use equipment checks Assist in the investigation of accidents and analysis as rigging and lifting SME. Coach and Guide supervisory personnel to deliver high quality Tool Box Talks and Start Work Checks sessions Assist and guide personnel in the correct completion of permit to work Review and advice on improvements to Job Safety Analyses Supervise implementation of the rigging and lifting procedures. Ensure effective implementation of Life Saving Rules, particularly those related to safe mechanical liftings Any other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager at either worksite (VEHSI or PANDY) What are we looking for?
Education:
Recognized Rigging and Lifting Qualifications, Recognized Training / Assessor Qualifications, LOLER Appointed Person /
LEEA, NEBOSH or HSE Diploma Experience:
20 years in Oil & Gas sector, 20 years Rigging & Lifting Experience, 10 years in training / assessing capacity
Languages:
English Language skills required (and any other specified by Project)
Technical Skills:
Crane Operator experience, Heavy Plant Operator experience
IT Skills:
Computer Literate (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project or similar)
Soft Skills:
Verbal /Written Skills, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Public Speaking - Small Groups, Coaching and training skills What else should you know? The start date is as soon as possible. What can we offer to you: 6 months contract (subject to extension according to Company needs)
