ASAP Job Description:
Experienced Rigger to support project operations. Safely lift, move, position, and secure heavy equipment, materials, and structural components using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment. Work in an industrial/aerospace construction environment while following all safety procedures and site requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform rigging operations for heavy equipment, materials, and structural components. Select and inspect slings, shackles, hooks, chains, wire rope, spreader bars, and other rigging equipment. Determine load weights, center of gravity, sling angles, and proper rigging configurations before lifts. Properly attach, balance, and secure loads to lifting equipment. Direct crane operators using standard hand signals and/or radio communication. Assist with crane lifts, equipment installation, structural assemblies, and material handling. Inspect rigging equipment before each use and remove damaged or defective equipment from service. Follow approved lift plans and all applicable safety procedures and regulations. Identify potential hazards associated with lifting and rigging operations. Use tag lines to safely control suspended loads. Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials. Properly store and maintain rigging equipment when not in use. Work closely with crane operators, supervisors, and other craft personnel. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform additional duties as assigned based on project needs.
Requirements:
Previous rigging experience in industrial, commercial construction, aerospace, shipyard, refinery, or similar heavy rigging environments. Experience with rigging equipment and safe lifting practices. Knowledge of proper rigging techniques, load capacities, sling angles, and basic load calculations. Familiarity with standard crane hand signals. Ability to safely inspect and use slings, shackles, chains, hooks, wire rope, and other rigging equipment. Ability to follow lift plans, drawings, and supervisor instructions. Strong understanding of jobsite safety requirements. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials as required. Must be comfortable working around cranes, heavy equipment, and suspended loads. High school diploma or GED preferred. NCCCO or other recognized rigging certifications are a plus. Drug and background screening required Must have a valid driver's license. Reliable transportation required. Must be able to work 50+ hours per week, including overtime and weekends as required.
