Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Rigger to join our dynamic construction and heavy equipment operation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently rigging, lifting, and securing loads using a variety of lifting equipment, including cranes, forklifts, boom trucks, and overhead cranes. Your expertise will ensure that materials and heavy components are handled with precision, adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while working in a fast-paced construction environment that values safety, teamwork, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Set up and operate rigging equipment to lift, move, and position heavy materials and machinery on construction sites or industrial facilities. Follow load handling procedures in crane operations to ensure safe and efficient lifting processes. Secure loads using appropriate rigging methods, including slings, chains, hooks, and other load securing devices. Conduct thorough inspections of rigging gear, cranes, hydraulics, and lifting equipment prior to use to identify any defects or safety concerns. Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all rigging activities. Coordinate with crane operators and other heavy equipment operators such as excavators, backhoes, forklifts, and warehouse personnel for seamless material handling. Implement safety protocols for working at heights or with overhead cranes while maintaining clear communication with team members. Assist in the setup of construction sites by handling materials safely using proper lifting techniques and materials handling equipment. Maintain detailed records of load movements, inspections, and safety checks for compliance purposes. Qualifications OSHA 10 is Required for this role. Proven experience in rigging, crane operation, or heavy equipment operation within construction or industrial environments. Strong mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, load handling procedures in crane operations, and materials handling techniques. Valid commercial driver's license with experience operating forklifts, boom trucks, overhead cranes, excavators, backhoes, or similar heavy machinery. Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and implementation of OSHA safety standards. Ability to read technical diagrams and understand load securing rigging methods effectively. Familiarity with safety equipment such as harnesses, helmets, gloves, eye protection, and fall arrest systems. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure safety during complex lifts. Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly while maintaining proper ergonomics; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces. Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
