Superintendent - Precast Erection Company Overview Inland Crane is a crane and rigging company specializing in the erection of precast concrete components for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee our crane crews and erection operations on precast projects. Position Summary The Superintendent will manage day-to-day field operations for precast erection projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-schedule installation of precast pieces (panels, beams, columns, double tees, etc.). This role acts as the primary on-site leader for our crews and the main point of contact with the general contractor and precast supplier/erector partners. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily erection operations, including crane setup, rigging, and sequencing of precast piece installation Review and understand erection drawings, piece marks, and connection details to ensure pieces are set correctly and in sequence Coordinate directly with the general contractor, precast manufacturer, and other trades on-site to keep the erection schedule on track Supervise crane operators, riggers, signalmen, and ironworkers/connectors, ensuring proper manpower and equipment are on-site daily Enforce all safety protocols specific to crane operations and precast erection, including rigging plans, lift plans, and critical lift procedures Conduct daily job briefings/toolbox talks and pre-lift safety meetings Track daily progress against the erection schedule and report delays, issues, or changes to management Manage on-site logistics — staging areas, truck sequencing/deliveries, crane pick paths, and site access Approve crew time cards and daily field reports Identify and resolve field conflicts (fit-up issues, sequencing problems, damaged pieces) in coordination with engineering/detailing as needed Ensure proper documentation: daily logs, incident reports, delivery tickets, and QA/QC checks on connections Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site Qualifications 5+ years of experience in precast erection, structural steel erection, or heavy rigging supervision Strong working knowledge of crane operations, rigging practices, and lift planning (NCCCO certification a plus, not required unless operating) Experience reading and interpreting erection drawings and precast shop drawings Proven ability to supervise and coordinate crews of 5-20+ people OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong communication skills — comfortable dealing directly with GCs, PMs, and inspectors Valid driver's license; ability to travel between job sites as needed Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb structures, and be on your feet for extended periods Preferred Experience specifically with precast concrete erection (vs. steel) — familiarity with grout, bearing pads, connection hardware, embeds Prior experience working for or alongside a crane/rigging company (rather than a general contractor) Rigging certification or advanced rigging training

Pay:

$58.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
