Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Crane Truck Operator with a valid NCCCO Crane Certification to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating hydraulic cranes to lift, move, and position equipment and materials safely and efficiently at various utility job sites. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment, including skid steers, mini excavators, and extended reach forklifts . As part of the EP Breaux Utility Services team, safety is a top priority, and the operator must comply with all safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate hydraulic crane trucks to lift and transport heavy materials, equipment, and structures at utility job sites. Operate additional equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, and extended reach forklifts as needed for the job. Ensure proper rigging and secure loads according to safety standards. Inspect crane, rigging equipment, and other machinery before use, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition. Maintain daily logs and reports regarding equipment performance, inspections, and any incidents. Collaborate with ground personnel and signalers to ensure safe and efficient crane and equipment operations. Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and company protocols to minimize risk. Adhere to utility safety guidelines and maintain clear communication with supervisors and other crew members. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on hydraulic cranes and other heavy equipment, reporting any defects or malfunctions immediately. Assist with other duties as needed, including general utility construction tasks.
Qualifications:
NCCCO Crane Certification (required). A minimum of 3 years of experience operating hydraulic cranes, with additional experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, and extended reach forklifts. Valid CDL Class A driver's license. Strong knowledge of crane safety standards, rigging techniques, and lifting capacity. Ability to read and understand load charts and technical documentation. Familiarity with OSHA regulations, job site hazards, and safety protocols. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and physically demanding environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with utility infrastructure construction and maintenance. Basic mechanical skills for crane and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Ability to use hand tools and power tools as required.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and operate in outdoor environments. Must be able to climb, bend, and work at heights safely.
Work Environment:
This position may require work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. The operator will be required to work around heavy equipment and in potentially hazardous environments.
Pay:
$28.00 - $33.00 per hour
