Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Rigger and play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of heavy materials and equipment on-site. As a Rigger, you will be responsible for the precise setup, securing, and operation of lifting equipment to facilitate various construction activities. Your expertise in rigging techniques, crane operations, and safety protocols will directly contribute to project success and workplace safety. Duties Set up and inspect rigging gear, load securing devices, and lifting equipment to ensure proper functioning before lifts. Coordinate with crane operators to execute lifts safely, adhering to load handling procedures and weight limits. Select appropriate rigging methods based on load type, weight, and site conditions, utilizing overhead cranes, boom trucks, or other lifting machinery. Secure loads using proper rigging techniques to prevent shifting or falling during transport or lifting operations. Conduct routine safety checks on all lifting equipment and ensure compliance with construction workplace safety regulations. Assist with materials handling tasks such as loading/unloading materials in warehouses or shipping & receiving areas. Follow OSHA safety standards and safety protocol adherence during all rigging and crane operation activities to maintain a safe work environment. Requirements Proven experience with rigging, crane operation, and heavy equipment handling within construction or industrial settings. Mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, materials handling equipment operation, and load securing rigging methods. Valid commercial driver's license preferred for operating trucks like boom trucks or backhoes on-site or between locations. Familiarity with overhead cranes, hydraulic systems, and other lifting machinery used in construction workplaces. Knowledge of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards and construction workplace safety protocols. Ability to interpret technical manuals, load charts, and safety instructions accurately. Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy loads safely while following proper safety procedures. Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety equipment use such as harnesses, helmets, gloves, and eye protection. Experience operating material handling equipment like backhoes or boom trucks is advantageous. Prior warehouse experience or shipping & receiving background is beneficial for material logistics tasks. Join us in building safer worksites through expert rigging practices!
