Full Job Description Core Purpose:
Review shop orders to ensure correct customer, wire, wire size, stranding, color, and outer diameter (O.D.), and accurately spool and label products to meet customer requirements and on-time shipment goals.1
Order Preparation & Verification:
Verify correct conductors (magnetic vs. non-magnetic) and insulation types (such as PTFE, FEP, PFA, and ETFE). Handle initial WIP labels, stamp shop copies, and create order envelopes when applicable.1
Testing & Quality Control:
Conduct mandatory testing procedures, including dielectric, low noise, fault finder, continuity, and basic wire testing (tensile, elongation, and shrink tests) to ensure product integrity and identify defects.1
Processing & Put-Ups:
Manage specialized put-ups (such as bond, etch, shield, parallel lay, planetary twist, stripe, and print put-ups) following specific length, lead wire, and spool sizing guidelines.1
Packaging & Shipping Preparation:
Seal both ends of specified wire/cable with heat-shrink end caps, affix accurate shipping labels, attach adding tapes for direct shipments, and wrap etch products in black film and bags.1
Administrative Duties:
Enter all operations and print/verify daily employee labor reports from Passport against log books. Stamp shop orders and tickets with employee stamps for tracked accountability.
