Shield Management is hiring a full-time, in-house Septic/Site Installer to lead onsite septic and sewer line installation at High View Campground, a large-scale development project in West Brookfield, MA. This is a hands-on field role with room to grow into broader site work and, for the right candidate, a path to becoming our licensed Title 5 installer of record. You'll take ownership of the septic and trenching work currently underway across the property — tanks, leach fields, and sewer lines serving the site — and work alongside our existing site crew and engineer of record as additional phases of the project move forward. Core Responsibilities Install septic tanks, leach fields, and sewer lines to Massachusetts Title 5 standards, following approved engineering plans and DEP filings Operate excavation equipment for trenching, tank-setting, and related sitework Coordinate day-to-day with our site crew and engineer of record (McClure Engineering) to keep installs on schedule and up to code Prepare sites for inspection and be present for Board of Health inspections Maintain accurate records of completed work for permitting and closeout documentation Flex into general site work, trenching support, and other trades as needed between septic phases Once licensed, sign off on completed installs and help streamline future permitting Qualifications At least one year of hands-on experience working under a licensed installer in Massachusetts (required to sit for the Title 5 Installer exam) Massachusetts Title 5 Installer license preferred; candidates with the required field hours who are ready to sit the exam are encouraged to apply Comfortable operating excavation equipment Track record of completed septic/sewer installs that passed inspection without rework Ability to work independently on-site, with strong communication back to the project team Own truck/tools a plus What We Offer Competitive salary ($75,000-$90,000/year) plus standard payroll benefits — a stable, full-time alternative to day-rate contract work Full-time, dedicated placement on one project site rather than juggling multiple job sites Support toward licensure if you're not yet a licensed Title 5 installer Opportunity to grow into a lead role across future phases of the development How to Apply Submit your resume, license status (if applicable), and 2-3 references or addresses of past completed installs through Indeed.
