Marine Rigger - Portland, ME Our client is an established marine services company specializing in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of sailboat rigging, spars, and related equipment. Our client is currently looking for a Marine Rigger to join their Rig Shop team. This full-time, year-round position involves working on a diverse range of sailboat projects, from mast installation to rigging repairs and custom work. -- Responsibilities Step and unstep masts on sailboats. Inspect standing and running rigging for wear and damage. Replace and service standing rigging components. Fabricate and replace running rigging as needed. Splice lines and prepare custom running rigging solutions. Install and service furling systems. Service winches, blocks, travelers, and other sailing hardware. Assist with mast, boom, and spar fabrication and repairs. Install and replace rigging and deck hardware. Tune sailboat rigs for optimal performance. Perform seasonal commissioning and decommissioning of rigging systems. Work at heights when required, including aloft on masts and spars. -- Qualifications Marine rigging experience is preferred. Experience in sailing, boatyards, construction, fabrication, or related trades will also be considered. Strong attention to detail and precision in all tasks. Comfortable using hand and power tools effectively. Ability and willingness to work at heights, including on masts and spars. Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability. Dependable, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
