Certification Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description Description Responsible for moving heavy materials and equipment around jobsites using rigging gear. Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) Select cables, ropes, pullup, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved. Attaches pullup and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceiling, and gin pole boom with bolts and clamps. Attaches load with grappling devices, such as loops, wire rope, and chains to crane hook. Gives direction to operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled. Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches.
Requirements:
NCCER Certifications Operate heavy equipment machinery, and dismantle the rigging after the job. High School Diploma or General Education Degree. Knowledge of rigging equipment, excellent space awareness, and good communication skills. Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
